The web structure of L. variolas and L. bishopi was investigated under laboratory conditions. The webs show a typical theridiid three-layer arrangement. The main catching function belongs to the middle web layer. The catching potential of the lower web layer is very low. The vertical viscid threads are scarce or are completely absent. It is thought that the changes in structure and catching potentials of the web developed as a result of adjustment to a vegetated habitat.
