Abstract

The paper introduces some materials from a professional argot, now spoken by a few members of the traditional house-builder's guild in Ābāde township near Shiraz, in Iran. The vocabulary of this language consists mostly of words with unknown origin, while the morphology and syntax are based on the local Persian dialect.
