Atrobucca geniae (Pisces: Sciaenidae) is described from three specimens captured in depths of 300 and 750 m off Nuweiba and Elat on the western coast of the Gulf of Elat. The new species most closely resembles A. nibe from the Bay of Bengal and East China and A. marlevi from off Natal. South Africa. A. geniae can be distinguished from both species by several proportional measurements and a difference in the shape of the cauda of the pattern of the sagitta otolith.
