Summary

Material under investigation was udder milk collected from 24 goats of Polish White Improved breed. Samples were obtained twice a week from the 1st until the 9th week of lactation. In 397 tests, somatic cell counts (SCC) were established (by means of a Fossomatic instrument), in addition to basic physico-chemical traits. A significant negative correlation between somatic cell counts and lactose content was found, in addition to a positive correlation among somatic cell count, day of lactation, and fat content.
