The making of knowledge public counts on intellectuals who welcome the opportunity to express themselves, as they are interested in making their implicit knowledge explicit by sharing their point of view with others. In the following, the case of Hrant Dink will be used as a paradigmatic example to demonstrate the interest of journalists in expressing their political opinion - firstly, as an individual and to some respect as part of a community. Dink’s intention was to make Armenians and the Armenian point of view visible. It will be shown, how intellectuals such as Dink interact with the public in this regard and the possibilities they have to influence and maybe change public opinion. As such actions need intercultural sensibility, change management is an important, but difficult task in this context. Therefore, it will be investigated, how such a dialogue could succeed and why Dink did not. Furthermore, it will analyse how Dink’s subsequent murder impacted further discussions.
