Abstract

One of the remaining questions regarding teacher education in the field of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) centers around how we can provide meaningful pre- and in-service training to support teachers in developing their knowledge and implementation of CALL. To do so, however, it may first be necessary to look for novel scientific tools and conceptual vehicles.

This chapter is an experimentation with the ontology of Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari in an effort to apprehend the intricate texture of the interrelationships between teacher education and CALL. This experimentation will be guided by the following question: How might teacher education in CALL exist? The goal of this chapter is not to provide answers, but rather to open up a space to think differently about teacher education in CALL – and maybe even to help us see new connections that we did not see before.
